♫ ♪ MUSIC 11 - APRIL PLAYLIST ♫ ♪

1. EXO - EXODUS
When EXO came out in 2012, I didn't pay attention to them because they debuted at a time where there was new groups every other week. To me they were just another group of boys dancing on stage with nothing interesting to offer. I gave them a chance and found out that they had very nice ballads like What Is Love, Moonlight & Angel. I was really anticipating this album & they didn't disappoint! To me this is their best album to date. I love most of the songs on it & have them on repeat. My favorites are What If, Playboy, Lady Luck & El Dorado. It's also the first time that I love their title track after the first listen. The chinese version of What If made me want to go back to learning chinese; that's how much impact this song had on me haha. Chen's voice match this song really well. Playboy was written & composed by Jonghyun from SHINee (I talked about him in the March MUSIC 11) & it's a nice jazzy, retro song. I don't know which version of the album I like better, both versions have nice little touches here and there which makes it hard to pick one.

2. RIHANNA - BBHMM & AMERICAN OXYGEN
I'm not going to lie, when I first heard 4,5 Seconds I didn't like it at all. The Grammy performance really saved the song for me but it wasn't a song I would gladly listen to. Then BBHMM was announced and I was excited to see how she would use Travis Scott on this song. It took me some time to appreciate that song and I was even questionning the marketing plan for this era. Are they going to pull a Nicki Minaj and release the worst songs as singles and let the better ones for the full album? It was my first time not liking a Rihanna single from the get go. And finally she released American Oxygen which is my favorite song from this era. I already loved the song but the music video really sealed it for me. I'm excited to see what she has in store for this album.

3. GAIN - HAWWAH
Gain is a member of the K-Pop group Brown Eyed Girls. I always liked her solo work and this mini album was really refreshing. I love the spring vibe of Apple & the sensual tone of Paradise Lost. Guilty is the unnoticed song of the album & one of my favorite!

4. KENDRICK LAMAR - TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY
I was waiting for this album for so long & Kendrick didn't disappoint at all! I loved his use of funk & jazz with his rap/poetry. I'm a little bit sad that the song he performed on TV (don't remember which show) didn't make the cut for this album. This album is amazing! Complexion is my favorite on this album. I love the message of the song & the fact that he gave some shine to Rapsody. Opening the album with Wesley's Theory gave the tone for this album. The live version of I is way better than the studio version. There a too many gems on this album for me to name them all. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any links to give you a preview but if you have the chance, give this album a listen. I cannot wait to see him live on my birthday!!

5. DIPLO & SKRILLEX - JACK Ü
I found this album when I was looking for Sia Elastic Heart on Soundcloud. Nice album with songs that I can make the Diddy Bop to haha. I usually listen to it when I'm getting ready in the morning.
